Clear Stream (Laminar) Faucet Aerators for Hospitals

Most faucet aerators mix air and water to produce an aerated stream. A clear stream or laminar device produces a crystal clear stream of water - no mixing of air and water.

The VHA Directive 2002-073 requires to "remove aerators in plumbing fixtures" and "replace with laminar flow devices" as part of an effort to limit the risk of Legionella contamination in VA hospitals. For more details, visit www.va.gov. Room air can contain harmful bacteria that are best kept out of the drinking water.

The Care+Guard and PCA Care laminar devices have a screenless Cascade® construction which helps to eliminate lime build up (no wire mesh screens). The Care+Guard laminar devices have built-in Agion antimicrobial product protection which provides another layer of protection. Need more information on laminar flow devices?
